Pirna

The seller of indulgences, Johann Tetzel, was born in Pirna. Antonius Lauterbach (a friend of Luther’s) was the first superintendent here; the paintings on the vaulted ceiling of the municipal church are based on his designs, taken from the first Luther bible.
