Marburg In 1527, the Hessian Landgrave Philip
the Magnanimous founded the first Protestant university in the dissolved monasteries in Marburg. Here, at the “Marburg religious conference” in 1529, a vain attempt was made to induce Luther and Zwingli to adopt a
common approach. Features of interest: Landgrave’s Palace, Church of St. Elisabeth, Town Hall, historic Old Town.
